Hailing from Bristol, CT, Peter Witzleb grew up a Hartford Whaler fan. An avid street hockey player as a boy, Peter notes that what he lacked in overall speed he made up for in his tenacity as a grinder. He attended the University of Rochester with the intent of going pre-med, but graduated with a degree in psychology in 1995, and followed up with an MBA in 2000. Pete’s medical interest remained however, and he went on to complete his New York State EMT training and become a leader of the student volunteer emergency response team, as well as a local suburban volunteer ambulance corps. While working full-time in hospital information systems, Peter joined the Pittsford Volunteer Ambulance Corps in 1996, where he donated over 3,600 hours of community service as a medic, driver, and dispatcher. He also served as Medic Supervisor and a member of the Board of Directors from 2001-2003.
In moving to Pennsylvania in 2004 with his wife Janis for a job opportunity, Peter settled in Downingtown and began raising a family. He is now the proud father of three children, and has been very involved in their myriad of sports. Peter has been active in West Bradford Youth Athletics for the past 4 years as a summer street hockey coach and soccer Dad, while also coaching Flag Football at United Sports. He is the Treasurer of the Stonegate Homeowners Association. Finally, Peter is the captain of the Nailers adult dek hockey team.
